Cayman - HSA drug shortage issues

The Health Services Authority (HSA) is battling a drug shortage problem. It says this is due to the worldwide limitation of various prescription medications.
The HSA says it’s doing all it can to mitigate the fallout. If the public pharmacy does not have the needed drugs, patients will be directed to one of the private ones.
“The HSA orders larger quantities of prescription drugs than any other pharmacy on island and stock the widest variety of drugs, including a range of specialist medicines. The drug shortages that are occurring in the US and UK is causing a trickle down effect here in the Cayman Islands as both the US and the UK are our largest direct and indirect suppliers,” said Chief Pharmacist Colin Medford.
