This court ruling will have major impacts on drug shortages. The stop gap measures that the FDA continues to pursue are failing and making the problem worse. The various pieces of legislation on the Hill such as the Grey Market Reform Act and Senate proposal (S. 959) are only results of the lack of drugs in the system.
