Supreme Court Asked To Weigh Hospira Drug-Shortage Suit

Law360, New York (September 17, 2013, 3:55 PM ET) -- A woman who brought a class action targeting Hospira Inc. for ceasing production of an injectable form of vitamin A has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the Eleventh Circuit's ruling that the drug's sole manufacturer had no special duty to supply it.

Hospira is the only company approved to sell injectable vitamin A for human use in the U.S. and Europe, according to the Sept. 5 petition. The company has shuttered production of its Aquasol A with an eye toward resuming it at some..
